Expansion of micro metal processing capabilities in Silicon Valley and CT

Salt Lake City, October 25, 2021/PRNewswire/-Biomerics LLC, a leading mid-market contract manufacturer in the interventional medical device market, announced that it will double its micromachining capabilities and add additional metal capabilities. The Santa Clara, California plant has added four new Willemin-Macodel machining centers. In addition, there are plans to install another eight systems at the facility in Monroe, Connecticut, four by the end of the year and four by mid-2022. "Just three months after joining the Biomerics family, our service demand has seen unprecedented growth," said Jason McCash, senior vice president of micromachining. "We are installing the machine as soon as possible and are happy to be able to expand and bring our expertise to CT operations."

CT and MN facilities are also implementing expansion plans, including floor space, capital equipment, and manufacturing technology. Rich Rosselli, President of Biomerics NLE, said: “We have added a fifth Swiss machine with an integrated laser to the CT facility, as well as other manufacturing technologies besides micromachining.” “We installed the coil winding in the CT and installed it in the MN. Guide wire profile grinding and additional laser tube cutting capabilities are targeted at microcatheters, flexible needles and steerable endoscopic equipment."
