Chopard continues to extend its Alpine Eagle collection of sporty-chic timepieces with a new dial color and a new case size. Introduced in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection combines the creativity of three generations of men in the Scheufele family, which has owned the Swiss luxury brand since 1963. In addition, the watch collection represents Chopard’s co-president, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s love of the Swiss Alps.

The new additions to the collection are led by two 41mm models that house a dial in an “original pine green color,” Chopard said in a statement. The case and integrated bracelet are available in either Chopard’s exclusive ultra-resistant and highly luminous Lucent Steel A223 (a metal alloy produced by Chopard specifically for the Alpine Eagle collection) or ethically sourced 18k rose gold.

The new "Pine Green" dial color is inspired by “the forests carpeting the mountains when, on summer days, the melting snow gives way to a deep greyish-green mantle of vegetation,” the company says.

The watches are powered by the Chopard 01.01-C COSC-certified movement comprising 207 components, 31 jewels with a 60-hour power reserve.

Chopard has also released six models of the Alpine Eagle timepiece in a new 33mm size, in various colors and a case and integrated bracelet in a choice of the Lucent Steel A223, ethically sourced 18k rose gold or a two-tone version with a mix of both metals.

There are diamond-set bezel options in the Lucent Steel A223 and two-tone variants, while both rose gold iterations are diamond-set—one just on the bezel and the other on the bezel, the central bracelet links and hour-markers.

The six references are available in four dial colors, which like the new “pine green” are inspired by the colors of the Swiss Alpine landscape. They include:

The watches are powered by the Chopard 09.01-C automatic COSC-certified movement comprising 159 components and 27 jewels with a 42-hour power reserve.

This new 33mm size joins the 36, 41 and 44mm sizes for this collection.

Since its introduction in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection has been defined by a dial with a textured sunburst pattern inspired by the eye of an eagle; rhodium-plated or gilded applied hour-markers and numerals enhanced by Grade X1 Super-LumiNova; rhodium-plated or gilded baton-type hours and minutes hands with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova; and rhodium-plated or gilded arrow-type seconds hand with an eagle feather counterweight.

Another key identifier for this collection is the use of Lucent Steel A223, Chopard’s highly luminous, anti-allergenic material that’s twice as hard as steel and uses 70% recycled material, the company said. The metal alloy was produced in-house specifically for the Alpine Eagle. It is the result of four years of research and development.

These new models follow the recent additions to the Alpine Eagle collection including a tourbillon, a high-frequency caliber housed in a titanium case, and a patented flyback chronograph.

Another feature of the collection is that a portion of all sales goes toward the Alpine Eagle Foundation, an organization that is primarily dedicated to support of the Aigles du Léman wildlife park, which reintroduced the white-tailed eagle to the Lake Geneva region.

The organization was founded by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele along with experts and devotees of the Alps, such as falconer Jacques-Olivier Travers (creator of the Aigles du Léman park) and Ronald Menzel (managing director of the Freedom Conservation NGO campaigning to protect birds of prey).
