The mopping robots can also be used to verify pricing accuracy and see if products are available.

Bulk retailer Sam's Club is expanding its army of autonomous, floor-scrubbing robots.

Sam’s Club already has robotic scrubbers from Tennant Company in use at hundreds of locations in the US, but the it will add 372 more units this fall so all 599 Sam’s Clubs in the US have them.

Because of the pandemic, companies want to reduce worker-to-worker contact while remaining operational. This has reinforced the need for robotic solutions to cleaning and medical problems, including drones to disinfect stadiums and deliver meds to rural areas.

Tennant T7AMR floor scrubbers, powered by Brain Corp's BrainOS, don’t just do floors; they also gather data. Sam’s Club has been testing and will expand an inventory analytics pilot program, a cloud-based app that can verify pricing and product availability, among other things, via a data collection and scanning accessory mounted on a robotic floor scrubber.

“The potential of robots, AI, and data working in concert throughout an in-store environment can only be realized by proven, commercial technology,” said Dr. Eugene Izhikevich, CEO of Brain Corp. “Sam’s Club recognizes the scale of this opportunity and we are proud to be selected as part of their connected club initiatives.”
