The iF Design Award has carefully selected the best and most innovative designs since 1953, commending product design, traffic design, communication design, packaging, service design, architecture, interior architecture, professional concepts, and UI and UX for 67 consecutive years. The entire iF Design Award program received as many as 10,000 submissions this year, which were evaluated by 98 international design experts from 21 countries/regions in the iF jury.

This year alone, 1,744 designs won the iF Design Award for their creative achievements in various categories, and another 75 designs won the coveted iF Gold Award for their outstanding work. The iF Design Award always holds a grand award ceremony in Berlin, although due to the pandemic and global travel restrictions, this year’s award-winning products and projects are being celebrated digitally and promoted through international content under the slogan "The CreatiFe Power of Design" Activities" cooperate with popular design platforms and seven well-known design museums.

Infinity Mover takes the form of a tram as a model, avoiding the shortcomings of trams—the need to travel on the track, their bulky characteristics, and the reliance on human drivers. Infinity Mover is modernized by turning trams into electric self-driving cars, providing riders with modular, interactive and intuitive functions and driving on regular roads. With a series of LiDAR sensors, Infinity Mover can be easily deployed on existing roads without changing the infrastructure, and helps to transform public transportation into the most advanced people-oriented public service!

Lilium Jet is equipped with 36 inclined jet engines to provide flight power for this eVTOL. It can carry up to 5 passengers on a single charge and travel 300 kilometers in just 60 minutes! Its wingspan is only 11 meters, and it has no tail, rudder, gearbox and oil circuit design, making its design truly revolutionary. The design that won the iF Gold Award will make its debut in 2025. I hope that future models can also fly autonomously!

Concussions are bad enough... Combine them with being trapped in a body of water, and you have a deadly combination that can easily become a life-threatening situation for surfers. OBEX is a life-saving device that helps surfers provide protection in the event of a fall. Although the hood does not prevent concussion, its head closure design helps to reduce the impact. The special pressurized container near the neck also contains a self-expanding neck strap that keeps the surfer’s head above the water in the event of a fall. The inflatable floating device is yellow, which is easy to see under the blue water surface, and is also equipped with reflective tape to improve visibility and save lives.

The reason why BMW i Interaction EASE looks like this is because it aims to challenge the concept of the car's future appearance. Imagine that the future car is just an extension of our home and ourselves. The BMW i Interaction EASE concept is equipped with a “cab/chariot with wheels” design, which can automatically move from one place in the city to another. In the lounge. i Interaction EASE is supported by a virtual BMW assistant that recognizes passengers as they board the plane and welcomes them by adjusting the interior to suit their preferences. The warm, welcoming seat with a 3D knitted surface wakes up when in contact with embedded smart materials ready to help, allowing passengers to move freely and interact naturally. The DESIGNWORKS team (an internal subsidiary of the BMW Group) mentioned: “According to the wishes of passengers, the space will be adjusted using sight, gestures and touch to achieve the closest and most natural interaction, thereby changing the entire interior”.

Sixty years ago, Rosenthal made a sensation in the porcelain industry with the avant-garde designs of artists, designers and architects. Now, the German porcelain manufacturer is launching a limited anniversary series to celebrate its studio series and has translated 60 iconic vases with twelve modern colors (hence the name of the series). The styles of these vases are varied, which is the exact opposite of wheel spinning pottery. The design of the vases looks like they were created using generative design techniques (I wouldn't be surprised if so), these vases do not exhibit the same rotational symmetry associated with traditional ceramics. It accurately measures the most dangerous air pollutants and important environmental parameters in real time. At the same time, it does not look like a complex, technical, and close to industrial equipment. It is more like an avant-garde design product that helps to integrate into the space. At the same time, it gives a sense of avant-garde technology. Considering the serious impact of indoor environment on people's happiness and health, this device serves users by integrating various air pollution sensors into a neat platform. This wall-mounted device has a variety of colors and replaceable color plates (such as terrazzo, wood, concrete, metal, glass) to suit different interior designs, allowing customers to customize their Atmocube to suit their decoration. This design approach has pushed products like Atmocube to the forefront, allowing people to place such gadgets in living rooms and lobbies instead of storing them in storage rooms.
